₹100 Google Play Redeem Codes: How They Work
What a Google Play redeem code is, how to apply one, why codes are region-locked, and what to do when a code will not redeem.
A Google Play redeem code is a 20-character string that adds credit to your Google Play balance. That balance buys apps, games, in-app purchases, books, and subscriptions.
Redeeming a code
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon in the top right, then Payments & subscriptions.
- Tap Redeem code, enter the code exactly as shown, and confirm.
The credit appears in your Play balance immediately. It does not expire once redeemed.
Why codes are region-locked
A code issued for the India store only redeems on an account whose Play country is India. This is a Google restriction, not a platform one. If your Play country is set elsewhere, an India code will return an error — and changing your Play country is limited to once per year.
Common redemption errors
- "Code already redeemed" — every code is single-use. If you bought it secondhand, you were sold a used code.
- "Code is not valid in your country" — region mismatch, as above.
- "Invalid code" — usually a typo. Zero and the letter O are the usual culprits.
