Google Play Points is a loyalty programme built directly into the Play Store. Most people in India have it switched on without ever using it. If you already spend anything in the Play Store — including on Free Fire diamonds — you are leaving credit on the table.
How it works
You earn points on Play Store purchases, and sometimes on free activities Google promotes (installing a featured game, pre-registering for a title). Points convert into Play credit, which you can spend on anything in the store, diamonds included.
What a point is actually worth
Roughly, 100 points converts to about ₹10 of Play credit — so a point is worth around 10 paise. The exact rate and the offers available shift, and Google occasionally runs weeks where points are earned at 2x or higher. Those weeks are when the programme is genuinely worth paying attention to.
The tiers
The programme has levels — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond — based on how many points you earn in a year. Higher tiers earn points faster and unlock better redemption offers. For most casual players, this means Bronze or Silver, and that is fine.
How to actually use it for Free Fire
- Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, and select Play Points.
- Join if you have not (it is free).
- Check the Earn tab for weekly point boosts and free point activities.
- Under Use points, convert your balance into Google Play credit.

The honest limitation
Play Points mostly rewards spending. If you never buy anything in the Play Store, you will accumulate points very slowly. It is a discount on money you were already going to spend, not a way to earn from zero.
